Creative writing
Imbue your writing with rich, vivid images that capture the imagination and seduce the reader into turning the pages. It's your creation and you can take the story in any direction you like.
Creative non-fiction (Essays)
Tell your story, but whereas in creative writing you can invent, non-fiction tells the truth. You can juggle the incidents and play with time and place for coherency; introduce dialog that might or might not have taken place; change the name of your characters to protect the innocent. But the story must be real.
Technical documents
Was the manual written by a tech-savvy but non-native English speaker? Is the formatting inconsistent and unpleasing to the eye?
